The Iranian Foreign Minister Calls for a "Final" End to the War Between the United States and Iran
In a post on X, Araghchi said that American media are distorting their stance, and that they have never refused to go to Pakistan for peace talks, contrary to previous reports. He added: "What matters to us is reaching terms for a final and lasting end to the illegal war imposed on us."
His remarks come after a previous report by Wall Street Journal reporter Summer Saeed, who mentioned that Iran informed mediators it was not prepared to meet with American officials in Islamabad in the coming days, and that American demands are unacceptable. Araghchi's statement comes as the US-Iran war enters its sixth week, amid uncertainty about peace negotiations between the two countries.
It is also worth noting that the deadline set by President Trump for April 6 is approaching rapidly, with the president threatening to strike Iran's energy infrastructure if progress is not made in peace talks. Earlier this week, Trump said Iran requested a ceasefire, despite Iran denying these claims.
Bitcoin continues to trade sideways amid uncertainty about the US-Iran war. The leading digital currency surpassed $67,000 today, recording an intraday increase, according to TradingView data.
