Coin World News,

Anthropic has filed documents with the FEC to establish a political action committee, AnthroPAC, funded by employees. The backdrop is that the company is currently in a dispute with the Trump administration over Claude being used for military purposes. Previously, Anthropic refused the Pentagon’s request to remove safeguards designed to prevent the system from being used for large-scale surveillance or autonomous lethal weapons. This March, Anthropic sued the federal government, arguing it had been designated as a national security supply-chain risk; and recently, the court has ruled to put that designation on hold. In addition, major tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have all set up similar PACs. Moreover, in 2026, Anthropic donated $20 million to Public First Action, an organization that supports AI safety measures.
