I recently noticed an interesting phenomenon—the recent rally in the silver market has been quite remarkable. Silver has been on the rise since last year, and at the beginning of this year, it has surged even more, breaking through $100 per ounce some time ago. This is like a gift from the sky for silver producers and related investors.
Recently, international financial media published a list of severely undervalued silver mining stocks, among which one company caught my attention—Silver Will Mining Corporation. This Canadian mining company mainly operates mining projects in China, Canada, and South America, focusing on exploration and development of silver, gold, lead, zinc, and other non-ferrous metals. Unfortunately, domestic investors can't buy its stock directly because it is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the NYSE.
What really impressed me was the company's founder, Dr. Feng Rui. This guy entered university in 1978 and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada in 1992. He also did postdoctoral research at the University of Montreal and worked at the Canadian Geological Survey. In 1994, he resigned to start his own business, transforming his academic knowledge into tangible mining projects.
Feng Rui's two classic cases in China's mining industry are quite representative. One is the exploration of the Changshanhao Gold Mine in Inner Mongolia, which became the largest heap leach mine in northern China; the other is the Moon Gully Lead-Zinc-Silver Mine project in Henan, providing a replicable mining model for the industry. But I think his most visionary move was his plan in South America.
Silver Will incubated New Pacific Metals, which owns several high-quality silver mining projects in Bolivia, including the Silver Sand Mine, Colanca Silver-Gold Mine, and Silver Needle Silver-Gold Mine. Through continuous drilling investments, these projects have achieved significant breakthroughs. Interestingly, these projects involve multiple mineral resources such as zinc blende, indicating great potential for multi-metal development.
A few years ago, Feng Rui expressed optimism about the prospects of silver at industry conferences, and it now seems that his judgment was correct. The recent rise in silver prices has made Silver Will one of the biggest winners. From scholar to entrepreneur, from the Chinese market to South American plan, this company's story is definitely worth paying attention to.
