JUST IN: Canada moves toward banning cryptocurrency donations for election campaigns, following the UK.


Bill C-25 follows years of warnings from Canada’s Chief Election Officer about the risk cryptocurrency donations could pose to electoral integrity.
Canada’s Bill C-25 would prohibit donations in cryptocurrencies, money orders, and prepaid cards across the federal political system, closing a fundraising channel that has seen virtually no use since cryptocurrencies were legalized in 2019.
