Grid Equipment ETF Guotai (561380) Pullback Exceeds 3.2%, "15th Five-Year Plan" Ultra-High Voltage Maintains High Boom, Seize Grid Equipment Layout Opportunities
China International Capital Corporation (CICC) pointed out that in the power equipment sector, State Grid’s fixed asset investment in the first two months increased by over 80% year-on-year, and the “14th Five-Year Plan” ultra-high voltage projects remain highly active. The Dalaet-Mongolian West ultra-high voltage AC project has been approved, with efforts to start construction by April 2026; State Grid has launched the first phase of pre-construction services and equipment bidding for ultra-high voltage projects in 2026. We are optimistic about the deepening of market-oriented reforms in the power sector and the acceleration and upgrading of ultra-high voltage construction, which continuously support the improvement and efficiency of the new power system. The State Council issued implementation opinions to improve the nationwide unified electricity market system, clarifying that by 2030, about 70% of electricity will be traded through marketization, and the spot market will be officially operational by 2027, promoting new market entities like “Shagehuang” and virtual power plants to participate equally.
Guotai’s (561380) Electric Power Grid Equipment ETF tracks the Hang Seng A-shares Electric Power Grid Equipment Index (HSCAUPG), which focuses on companies related to power grid equipment in China’s A-share market, including transmission, transformation, and distribution systems. The index selects listed companies involved in these fields as its constituents. Comprising 50 stocks, the index emphasizes high purity and concentration, mainly allocated to manufacturing, supplemented by information technology and scientific research services, aiming to reflect the overall performance of listed companies in the power grid equipment industry.
