Daily dedicated time for answering private message questions: About cognitive enhancement and change

"See a child's character at age three, and their future at age seven"
This phrase actually refers to a kind of "continuity,"
not fate.
Indeed, some traits tend to be quite stable.
A person's temperament features:
Extraversion or introversion, cautiousness or impulsiveness, emotional stability or sensitivity.
These can often be observed early on and tend to have a certain continuity.
For example, early family environment can influence a person's attachment style, expression habits, and self-evaluation standards, which can become underlying behavioral logic.
Additionally, habits formed in childhood are prone to path dependence, such as whether one loves reading, self-discipline or procrastination, which are reinforced throughout growth.
But this does not mean people cannot change.
What remains stable is the "default mode," not the "final outcome."
The brain itself is plastic,
and a person's personality can change with experiences,
environment, and self-reflection.
Many people seem "unchanged" not because they cannot change,
but because they keep repeating the same thinking patterns and behavioral paths.
Change often requires three things:
First is awareness—knowing which responses are habitual;
Second is inputting new cognitive structures, rather than just consuming fragmented information;
Third is verifying and adjusting through real actions.
If you only "understand" but do not adjust your behavior, it’s actually very difficult to truly change.
So, early influences affect trends but do not lock in the ending.
What truly determines how far a person can go
is whether they are willing to continuously upgrade their way of thinking after adulthood.
As long as a person keeps learning, reflecting, acting, and reviewing, they can gradually break their original path.
What traps people is often not childhood,
but the moment they stop growing.
