Today I encountered something really outrageous. I bought a paid audiobook segment on the app, which was originally only 2.8 RMB, but since my App Store account was set to the US region at the time, the charge was in USD. It popped up as $0.99, and I paid without noticing it was in dollars because it was less than 2.8 RMB. Only later did I realize it was priced in USD—$0.99 is about 7 RMB. Damn, that’s three times more expensive. No wonder Trump kept imposing tariffs; Americans really have strong purchasing power. The minimum spend is $1. Do any of you in the US buy products under $1? It makes me think of many overseas students selling Yiwu small accessories in Europe and America—items that cost a few cents to produce can be sold for a few dollars or euros, multiplied dozens of times.
