#数字资产市场动态 Good morning, received a voice message at 3 AM:

"Xinjie, I used 10,000 USDT full position with 20x leverage to go long, and it was only a 5% pullback before liquidation."

Looking at his trading record, it’s all the same pattern—full position entry, extremely high leverage, never setting stop-losses.

I’ve always wanted to clarify one thing: many people misunderstand this:

The real cause of liquidation isn’t the leverage multiple, but the amount of money you put in at once.

**Position size is the line between life and death**

Let’s take 1,000 USDT as an example:

Using 900 USDT with 10x leverage to go long, a 5% adverse move wipes it out;

Using 100 USDT with 10x leverage, it takes a 50% move against to get liquidated.

See clearly? With the same leverage, the outcomes are completely different. What determines your survival isn’t the multiple, but the proportion of your total funds you risk.

The guy’s problem is actually very painful: he treated 95% of his principal as a binary gamble. Lose, and it’s zero.

**I haven’t been liquidated in half a year, thanks to these three bottom lines**

Never risk more than 20% of total funds in a single trade. For a 10,000 USDT account, at most 2,000 USDT per trade. Even with a 10% stop-loss, only lose 200 USDT, and the account stays alive to keep trading.

Set a 3% loss cap per trade. Pre-define your stop-loss levels early, cut losses immediately, and even several consecutive losses won’t hurt your core.

Stay quiet during consolidation, don’t get greedy after profits. Only trade clear breakout trends, avoid chasing the hype, and don’t increase position size after a couple of wins.

**The true meaning of full position**

Full position isn’t about gambling; it’s about giving yourself room to make mistakes—but only if you enter lightly and manage risk strictly.

One student followed this discipline and turned 5,000 USDT into 80,000 USDT in three months.

He told me one thing I’ve always remembered: "I used to think full position was risking everything, but I later understood it’s actually about surviving longer."

In the crypto world, it’s not about who makes money fastest, but who can stay in the game.

Stop thinking about going all-in; focus more on position management.

Slow down, and you might go further.

The market cycles are the same, but only those who never get eliminated have the chance to catch every wave.

Damn, this is the real truth. Position management is truly a life-and-death line. I've seen too many people die with full positions.

Damn, this is the real talk. People holding full positions simply don't understand what risk management means. Position management truly determines life or death; it's not something complicated. Honestly, most liquidations are just greed and recklessness. Serves them right. I've thought about this logic for a long time, and finally someone explained it clearly. Thumbs up. That 20% threshold is really brilliant. Learned a lot.

Honestly, I've also suffered losses in position management... At that time, I was just greedy, and as a result, I lost everything back to square one.

Really, I've seen too many painful lessons about full positions; it's not a gambler's game at all. This guy was trying to turn things around with a all-in move, but he got wiped out instantly. Honestly, he just didn't understand the difference between position size and leverage. Putting 95% of the principal into a single trade is no wonder it blew up. Now I strictly limit each trade to 20%. Even if it's higher, I won't touch it. Staying alive is the most important thing. I've also heard the story of a student who turned 5,000 into 80,000. The key is discipline; stop-loss really saves lives.
