XLB (Materials ETF) is printing a textbook monthly breakout—RSI and MACD are flashing synchronized signals that usually precede significant moves. The setup looks clean for a run toward 60 this year, possibly higher if momentum sustains.
Looking at the fund's top positions: LIN, NEM, CRH, FCX, SHW, ECL, NUE, VMC, MLM, and APD. These heavyweights are carrying most of the weight. If commodities continue their repricing cycle, you're essentially leveraged into that theme through this vehicle.
The inflection point is here—whether it holds will depend on broader macro conditions and whether sellers step in at resistance. But technicals suggest the path of least resistance is higher from current levels.

XLB this wave is indeed interesting, but I still think the macro part is too uncertain... RSI and MACD look good, but if it reaches the 60 level and there's no volume to follow, it will be awkward.

XLB this wave is indeed interesting, but what I care about most is whether those heavyweights can really withstand the macro pressure... RSI synchronized with MACD sounds good, but I'm just worried about a sudden black swan.

Paper hands warning, I've seen too many of these textbook signals, and they all end up getting crushed in the end.

XLB looks quite comfortable this time, but the real test is still ahead... Once the macro changes direction, how quickly can these heavyweights run?

XLB this wave is indeed interesting, but don't be fooled by the technicals; the macro environment is the real killer.
