Bitcoin's scripting capabilities have always been there—they're just deliberately kept simple by design. Think multisig wallets, time locks, and granular access controls: the protocol already supports all of this. But here's the thing: that constraint isn't a limitation, it's a feature. When you prioritize predictability and security over maximum flexibility, you get something more resilient. The intentional minimalism isn't laziness—it's a fundamental choice about what matters most in a settlement layer.

Honestly, I've long understood Bitcoin's philosophy of "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication," but few truly grasp it. Everyone is always trying to add features, but little do they realize that the simpler it is, the safer it becomes—that's the real wisdom.

Bitcoin's scripting system is indeed sufficient, but have you ever thought about it—behind the minimalist design is actually a risk control baseline. Multi-signature, time locks, and other mechanisms may seem flexible but limited, in fact, they are protecting the system's health factors. The more complex the protocol, the easier it is for liquidation prices to be triggered, leading to chain reactions of liquidations, and Bitcoin clearly understands this well. The settlement layer must be stable for funds to be safe, and I give this a full score.

Huh, so Bitcoin actually doesn't lack scripts at all, it's just intentionally not fully developed? Then why does Ethereum have to be so fancy?

This Bitcoin script design is truly brilliant. It looks simple but hides deep secrets. Security comes first, flexibility takes a backseat—this is what a settlement layer should look like.
