[Crypto World] India officially takes over as the rotating chair of the BRICS countries in 2026, marking the fourth time India has held this role. The new theme is set as “Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainable Development,” which clearly emphasizes focusing on areas capable of addressing global challenges.

India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar unveiled a new emblem incorporating a lotus and traditional folded hands gesture, and a dedicated official information platform has been established, indicating a serious effort to promote this initiative. Among the priority cooperation areas, India specifically highlighted collaboration in startups, small and micro enterprises, and emerging technologies, suggesting that amid global economic uncertainties, emerging economies are turning their attention to innovation and technological ecosystems.

For the crypto community, this signal is worth noting—major global economic alliances are beginning to actively embrace innovative technologies, which could accelerate the institutionalization of blockchain and Web3 in emerging markets.
