Having less than 5000U? Then you need to understand that at this stage, the most important thing is not to make big money, but to survive.

Many small fund players fail because of one mindset — always trying to turn things around with a big move. And what happens? They either choose the wrong direction or go all-in impulsively, only to be knocked back to square one by a sudden crash. The most deadly issue is often not strategy but the gambler’s mentality of not accepting defeat.

I have a friend who initially had only 3400U in his account, with average skills, and even experienced a margin call. But after two months, his account grew to 61,000U. It wasn’t due to some miraculous operation, but because he stuck to these three principles.

**Step one is position sizing.** Divide the 3400U into three parts: one for day trading, doing only one trade per day; another for waiting for swing opportunities, not touching it for ten days or half a month; and the last as a safety net, not touching it at all. You’ll find that many losses come from trying to go all-in on one shot, only to be forced out early.

**Step two is waiting for opportunities.** When the market is sideways, volatile, or unclear in direction, the smartest move is to stay out and observe. Don’t get jealous of others’ trades; preserving your capital is the top priority.

**Step three is using rules to control emotions.** Set stop-loss levels (exit at 2% loss), take-profit points (sell half at 4% gain), and when the account grows to 120% of the principal, withdraw 30%. Never add to a losing position. Write these rules down and follow them for every trade.

Now, this friend’s account has already exceeded 140,000U. More importantly, he no longer stays up all night watching the charts or feels anxious and restless. Spending just ten minutes a day to glance at the market is enough.

To put it simply, as long as the principal is still there, there’s a chance to double it. Position sizing, waiting for opportunities, and controlling emotions may not be as exciting as overnight riches, but they help you avoid many detours. The fastest way to turn things around in the crypto world is to stay calm and slow down.
