**What is Brevis? In a nutshell**

Brevis is a decentralized zero-knowledge coprocessor (ZK Coprocessor). It sounds complex, but the core logic is straightforward: it enables smart contracts to break through traditional limitations, allowing them to read historical data, process massive amounts of information, and also prove that the computation results are 100% accurate.

**Why do we need it?**

Traditional smart contracts (like those on Ethereum) can only access the latest data and are very costly when handling large amounts of information. Brevis changes this — it allows contracts to process historical data or cross-chain data off-chain, then send the computation results back on-chain via zero-knowledge proofs. This approach is efficient and secure, with data integrity and cryptographic guarantees.

**The story of the BREV token**

BREV is the native utility token of the Brevis network. It officially launched its mainnet on January 5, 2026, and has been listed on major exchanges including Binance and Ouyi.

**A vivid analogy to understand**

Imagine Brevis as an independent graphics card or a professional auditor on the motherboard. The main chain (Ethereum) is like the CPU, good at handling basic logic; Brevis is like a high-performance GPU, specialized in complex computations and data processing. Together, they enable the blockchain ecosystem to move from a "single-core era" to a "multi-core era."

In simple terms, Brevis is an upgrade package for blockchain — empowering contracts with "memory" and "complex thinking" capabilities.
