Leading exchanges recently intensified their efforts in the social square feature, and the underlying logic is quite clear— they have sensed the real pressure from social trading on social media platforms.

I heard that a certain social media platform is about to launch a feature: users can directly trade and do contracts by entering tags within the platform. This not only covers the US stock market but also mainstream cryptocurrencies, and even derivatives? The potential is indeed huge. In the past, there have been projects trying to use social media for interactive trading, but they didn’t create much splash; this time feels different.

As leading exchanges aggressively promote the social square feature, their sense of crisis is obvious— if the other side really ignites, will it impact existing users and trading volume? Especially for new projects thriving on certain public chains, if they migrate to the social media ecosystem, whether user stickiness can be maintained becomes a concern.

But to be fair, traditional exchanges still have a deep moat. Well-developed financial products, top-tier trading experience, ample cold wallet reserves—these are not things that can be copied overnight. As long as they don’t self-destruct (like some failed cases), their fundamental stability remains solid.

Real pressure is real pressure. The exchange's panic is written all over their face. This wave of social media trading really needs to pick up; traditional exchanges won't have an easy time. Is the moat deep? I don't think it's that deep. Who doesn't want convenience for users? Suddenly reminded of those failure cases, but this time I really feel it can succeed.

Wow, social media is directly doing trading? Now the exchanges are really panicking. This move is indeed somewhat impressive, but I still think it's not that simple. The moat is definitely real; cold wallets can't be copied. Let's wait and see how 2026 plays out. It's the same old story of the wolf coming to the crypto circle; I've seen it too many times.

Social media trading has been hyped up for so long, but how many are truly usable? The key still depends on trading depth and liquidity; otherwise, it's just a new trick to harvest retail investors.
