DUSK recently released a major update—the Hedger Privacy Engine. Don't think of this project as just another privacy coin; what it brings this time is a bit different.

After upgrading to a modular architecture, DUSK has launched this privacy engine tailored for the EVM execution layer. In simple terms, it allows Ethereum ecosystem developers to integrate confidential transactions into DeFi applications at zero cost. It sounds simple, but the technical complexity is quite high.

Why is it considered impressive? Here are a few perspectives:

True EVM compatibility. Previously, implementing privacy required relearning languages and switching toolchains. Hedger directly uses the existing Ethereum development stack, enabling developers to switch seamlessly without changing their habits. The combination of ZK and homomorphic encryption. Ordinary privacy protocols only use zero-knowledge proofs, but Hedger combines ZK with homomorphic encryption. This means it can not only hide the transaction details but also perform computations directly on encrypted data—this is a technological leap.

The most critical concern for institutions—confidential order book functionality. Large transactions are conducted on-chain, but the transaction intent is completely hidden, preventing MEV bots from front-running. This is the on-chain version of the traditional financial "dark pool."

Performance is also noteworthy; generating proofs within the browser takes less than 2 seconds. Compared to the lengthy wait times of other privacy protocols, the user experience is significantly improved.

Interestingly, DUSK's move is not aimed at black markets but at creating "compliant financial privacy." Assets can be hidden, and balances encrypted, but transactions remain auditable. This could be a key solution for RWA and institutional capital entering the crypto industry. Ultimately, competition in the privacy track will depend on who can truly implement and achieve real adoption.

Hedger's set of techniques is quite impressive. ZK combined with homomorphic encryption directly counters those projects still touting single solutions. Whether compliance and privacy can truly attract institutional participation depends on the subsequent ecosystem.

Sounds reliable, but can Hedger really eliminate MEV? Feels like just another hype.

This time DUSK is quite serious, Hedger really did it differently.

DUSK this wave definitely has something. The combination of zero-knowledge proofs and homomorphic encryption is the first time I've seen it genuinely in use, but implementation is the key, right?

Hedger indeed looks interesting, but there are still too few projects that are truly usable. --- Zero-cost integration sounds great, but the key question is how many DeFi projects will actually adopt it. --- EVM compatibility is nothing new; it's just a matter of how to capitalize on this wave of benefits. --- Homomorphic encryption mixed with ZK, the tech guys have been talking about it for a long time, but ultimately it depends on actual user data. --- Dark pool features are indeed attractive for institutions, but what does the regulatory side think... --- I believe in the ability to generate proofs in 2 seconds, but ecosystem adoption is the real key. --- Talking about compliance and privacy again; I've heard this rhetoric so many times I have calluses on my ears. Let's wait until it actually lands. --- The RWA (Real World Assets) pie is being painted big, but can DUSK really carve out a slice? --- Ultimately, it depends on who comes out first; it's too early to draw conclusions now.

Sounds good, but execution is the real test. The privacy coin track has been hyped many times before; will it actually survive this time?
