BNB Chain has released a pre-hard fork update, urging all validators and node operators to upgrade to version v1.6.4 before the "Fermi" upgrade activation on January 14. This upgrade aims to reduce the average block time from 0.75 seconds to 0.45 seconds, thereby increasing network throughput. Validators must upgrade to avoid losing synchronization, and after restarting, they need to rebuild the state snapshot.
