Yesterday, the RWA sector experienced a comprehensive decline, with the entire sector dropping by 3.51%. Among them, ONDO fell by 3.35%, and SKY's decline was even more significant at 5.04%. Meanwhile, Bitcoin fluctuated around $91,000, Ethereum remained at the $3,100 level, and the overall market saw a slight correction.

An interesting point behind this downward trend is that—RWA (Real World Assets) was originally positioned as a bridge between traditional finance and the crypto world, and should theoretically have stronger anti-dip properties. However, the reality is clear: the valuations of these projects have long been driven to high levels by the market, yet the scale of assets actually on-chain and landing remains far below expectations.

ONDO's government bond tokenization plan and SKY (formerly MakerDAO)'s RWA collateral system built around stablecoins both sound full of imagination. But the reality is that unclear regulatory frameworks, high asset custody costs, and persistent liquidity issues have all become significant obstacles to project expansion.

Today’s decline, to some extent, reflects the market re-evaluating the actual value of these projects. No matter how good the concept, it cannot withstand the test of time; hype cycles will eventually come to an end. For the RWA track to truly take off, what is needed is not just a surge in stock prices, but more verifiable landing cases and substantial support from regulators.

It's that season again for pie-in-the-sky promises. RWA sounds good, but the difficulty of implementation is a hundred times harder than the hype. The concept is easy to use; it takes off with a single push. If it really goes on-chain, it will just stay stuck in place. ONDO's claims are all talk, but what about liquidity? What about costs? All pitfalls. It should have fallen long ago; the virtual overvaluation is ridiculous. It's too late now that we only realize it. For RWA to really take off, we might have to wait until the Year of the Monkey and the Horse. Just having imagination isn't enough.
