The Bitcoin Core development team recently announced an important personnel change, with well-known developer TheCharlatan (sedited) officially promoted to Trusted Keys maintainer. This is the first time since May 2023 that the team has expanded its core members with commit access to the main branch. This move signifies further improvement in the governance structure of Bitcoin Core — now the number of PGP key maintainers with submission rights has increased to 6, including Marco Falke, Gloria Zhao, Ryan Ofsky, and Hennadii. This adjustment reflects the Bitcoin development community’s recognition of TheCharlatan’s contributions and also demonstrates the core team’s strategy of gradually optimizing the distribution of decision-making power while ensuring code security.

Hey, TheCharlatan finally got on board? This guy is really hardcore; having Commit permissions is not easy to come by.

Finally, new members have been granted commit permissions. It's been over a year without any updates; I thought the team personnel were frozen.

Get on TheCharlatan, the permissions are becoming more and more granular, it feels like Bitcoin Core is playing a bigger game ahead.

TheCharlatan has risen up. This guy really works hard, but with power distributed among 6 people... to be honest, I'm a bit worried it might become sluggish?

TheCharlatan has risen, finally seeing new faces. The deadlock in May was really a bit frustrating.

TheCharlatan has finally risen to the top. It was long overdue for him to take this position, as he has been quietly contributing from behind the scenes... Decentralizing power is a good thing; having 6 people in control is much more reliable than before.

Finally, new blood has come in. TheCharlatan's strength is evident, and it's about time to grant permissions. Decentralization really can't rely only on those few people.

TheCharlatan finally got on board. I told you this guy's skills are solid... But with 6 people holding commit rights, this feels a bit centralized, doesn't it?
