Actually, I believe users engaged in foreign trade have deep insights into this issue. Each settlement involves multiple rounds, taking a lot of time.

Traditional payment chains increase several costs:
Time costs—if it’s a weekend, settlement may be delayed until the next week. Even if it’s not a weekend, it might still be T+ several days.
Transaction fees—some frequent traders might be okay, but if dealing with a small country, funds may need to be transferred four or five times, each incurring a fee.
And human costs—sending funds back and forth, monitoring the chain, confirming receipt with proof of arrival—requires constant attention, making the process extremely complex.

However, Web3 offers significant help for free and seamless fund payments and circulation.

Moreover, it’s clear to everyone that although 2026 is just beginning, the industry’s demand for payments is already enormous.

But everyone is still exploring, and there is no 100% certain solution yet.

👍 I’ve looked into many solutions, and I think @0xPolygon founder @sandeepnailwal’s proposal of the Polygon Open Money Stack has the most potential.

Let me give an analogy: in the future, the flow of money will be like sending messages—instant, convenient, and seamless.

To put it in high-level language, the goal is to connect all fragmented payment processes—blockchain infrastructure, wallets, compliance checks, fiat on/off ramps, on-chain yields—into a “vertically integrated” solution.

The most critical part is “invisibility,” which I strongly agree with.

True technological progress is making users unaware of the technology behind it. In the future, users won’t need to understand Gas fees, cross-chain bridges, or even which chain they are using.

Users only need to pay; the system handles all the underlying “orchestration.”

📊 I also specifically looked at historical data. Polygon’s deep roots mean it’s already leading in the payment track (not just starting, but achieving notable success).
This is the biggest confidence in Polygon’s leadership in the 2026 payment narrative.

❓ However, after reading the original article, some might wonder: why does Sandeep say three years?

I’ve also interpreted it myself.

Currently, Web3 is on the verge of a direct explosion. From a K-line perspective, I interpret it as a steep upward surge just before takeoff.

So, the next few years are a golden period to seize this market.

At the same time, traditional payment giants like Visa, Mastercard, and others are also rushing to deploy. From certain angles, their strategies are unlikely to be wrong—they’re also securing future market entry tickets.

But this isn’t something that can be achieved overnight.

It requires historical foundation, technological deployment, strategic vision, and long-term development.

I think three years is just right. Polygon = the Visa of the payment industry; in China, it’s like Alipay.

🤝 I’d like to extend a bit here.

The best approach is to collaborate with traditional financial giants, avoiding reinventing the wheel. It’s better to cooperate directly with Polygon.

And Polygon has already achieved this—these aren’t small payment companies but traditional giants like Stripe, JPMorgan Chase, HSBC, etc.

Through Polygon, they can connect liquidity and integrate the entire payment chain. Their users not only experience automatic interest on idle funds but also enjoy seamless cross-border payments with instant settlement.

Just imagine how great that feels.

🤔 When money is no longer limited by geography, time, or intermediaries, and we stop discussing TPS and start focusing on user experience,

that’s when Web3 will truly see large-scale adoption.

Currently, Polygon’s “Polygon Open Money Stack” can support a market worth 20 trillion with hundreds of millions of people.

I am very fortunate to witness this great transformation.
