Elon Musk strikes again: DOGE-1 lunar mission to launch in December 2025, Dogecoin is expected to break through the Meme label
A short article on November 4th once again ignited the cryptocurrency community—Elon Musk revisited his 2021 promise: “SpaceX will send a real Dogecoin to the real Moon.” Just two words, “the time has come,” were enough to spark the market’s imagination.
This isn’t the first time. Four years ago, the same announcement caused Dogecoin’s price to surge 30% within minutes. At that time, Musk confirmed the company would launch the “DOGE-1 Moon Mission” and accept Dogecoin as payment. Now, several years later, this plan, once considered a “space fantasy,” has officially entered the practical implementation stage.
From Dream to Reality
The DOGE-1 Moon Mission is developed by Canadian company Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC). It is a CubeSat mini-satellite project—completely paid for with Dogecoin. The plan is to launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a license for the mission, valid until October 30, 2025.
In other words, the launch window is set for December 2025. If successful, this will be the first space mission in human history entirely paid for with cryptocurrency.
Why Is the Market Response More Calm?
An interesting comparison is before us: the same news in 2021 triggered a 30% surge in DOGE’s price. And this time? DOGE briefly rebounded from $0.172 to $0.178, then was pushed back down by overall market pressure. The increase was less than 4%.
What does this indicate? The cryptocurrency market is growing. Investors are no longer blindly following opinion leaders but are beginning to assess fundamentals—feasibility of the mission, technological maturity, practical application value.
Currently, Bitcoin has fallen below $106,000, and Ethereum has lost the $3,600 mark. The overall market is under pressure. In such a context, hype that lacks fundamental support appears especially fragile.
Where Is the True Breakthrough?
This time is different from four years ago. DOGE-1 has passed technical review, has a complete mission plan, and all necessary licenses. The CubeSat will be used for Earth observation and IoT data transmission—that’s not a gimmick but real application.
SpaceX Vice President of Commercial Sales Tom Ochinero stated plainly: “DOGE-1 will demonstrate the application of cryptocurrency beyond Earth’s orbit and lay the foundation for interstellar trade.”
From another perspective: Dogecoin is crossing from being a meme coin to a real commercial application scenario. A satellite paid for with cryptocurrency in orbit is not just a technological breakthrough but a deep empowerment of the entire cryptocurrency commercialization process.
Next Focus
The market is watching the December launch plan. This time, it’s not hype, not storytelling, but a solid technological achievement. What does a successful launch mean? Cryptocurrency is moving from virtual assets into the real economic cycle, finding a tangible landing scene beyond Earth’s orbit.
Elon Musk’s “space fantasy” from four years ago is turning into reality. This has significant implications for the entire industry.
Another Dogecoin surge of 30%, but whenever he tweets, the crypto world has to shout. Who's still seriously working on technology?
Paying with Dogecoin for CubeSat is a bit of a genius marketing move... December 2025, let's witness history together.
Hopefully, he won't stand us up again... What about the promises made last time?
Breaking the meme label? Do I believe it... First, see if this time he's really putting in money or if it's just another gimmick.
Is Elon Musk really planning to send the coin to the moon this time, or is he just bragging again... I'm a bit skeptical.
Wait, paying entirely with dogecoin? How much would that take to invest? Is there a story behind this?
Honestly, compared to whether it will go to the moon or not, I'm more concerned about when I can break even (laugh cry).
Anyway, if this really happens, the story of dogecoin will be even bigger.

Is Dogecoin about to take off again? Why do I feel like I keep getting cut every time?
---
The time has come... Those who understand, understand. Should I buy now or wait for a crash?
---
No hype, no blackening. This guy just tweets to pump the market. Whether it will land is really hard to say.
---
We've been waiting until 2025 for so long, waiting a bit longer doesn't hurt... right?
---
Dogecoin is floating on the Moon, and I’m still working on Earth, haha.
---
A 30% surge four years ago, why didn’t I get on the train then?
---
Paying entirely with Dogecoin? That move is really ridiculous.
---
The promised use case for Dogecoin, finally one that looks decent.
---
Hold on, using meme coins to go to space, who would have thought of this script?
