# Gate Plaza Newbie Village Phase 5

Reflecting on my first encounter with cryptocurrency, it was right at the tail end of the last bull market. Back then, I was completely driven by "FOMO" (Fear of Missing Out). Whenever I saw a coin surge, I chased after it, full of fantasies of "getting rich overnight." The result was often buying at the peak, only to watch my assets halve in value. During that time, anxiety and greed were my only "trading strategies."

The real change began when I calmed down and started learning in communities like Gate Plaza's "Newbie Village." I stopped just looking at price charts and started reading project whitepapers and paying attention to macroeconomic news. More importantly, I learned about position management. I stopped going all-in and instead diversified my funds, strictly following stop-loss and take-profit rules. This helped me preserve most of my capital and maintain my composure during subsequent market volatility.

Now, my trading journey is much more relaxed. During bull markets, I remind myself that "the market never only goes up," and I take profits in stages amid the euphoria. In bear markets, I see them as opportunities to accumulate quality assets and learn, gradually building positions amid fear.

Thanks to the nurturing environment provided by the Gate Family, I’ve grown from an impulsive speculator into a more disciplined market participant.
