#Gate Square Newbie Village Phase 5
"Stay alert in a bull market, stay calm in a bear market." This saying rings like a warning bell, striking me, an "old Newbie" who has traversed a complete cycle. Three years ago, I charged into the market with dreams of getting rich, just in time to catch the tail end of a bull market. At that time, I was completely driven by FOMO (fear of missing out), chasing trends and selling at losses, following whichever coin was popular. The outcome was predictable—I successfully stood guard at the peak, experiencing the "excitement" of my assets quickly shrinking.
That period was confusing, but also invaluable. I began to calm down and read a lot of analytical articles in Gate Square, learning to look at basic technical indicators. More importantly, I started to understand the significance of "position management" and "take profit and stop loss". Although the bear market is cold, it is the best time to learn. I utilized Gate's rich ecosystem, gradually building my strategy from simple spot trading to trying dollar-cost averaging.
My greatest growth lies in the shift of my mindset. I no longer see the market as an ATM, but rather as a long-term practice. The core of my strategy has become very simple: in a bull market, don't be greedy, take profits in batches; in a bear market, don't be afraid, stick to dollar-cost averaging. I no longer pursue buying at the lowest point and selling at the highest point, but strive to operate within my own "reasonable range" and earn money within my cognitive scope.
This process is very lonely, but fortunately, I have the companionship of the Gate Family. Seeing so many partners in the square who are also persevering, sharing, and learning, I know I am not fighting alone. This community atmosphere is another valuable asset that Gate has brought me, in addition to safe trading.
In the future, I hope to continue practicing "awareness" and "calmness," together with Gate and all my family, to go through more cycles, gaining not only wealth but also mental maturity and growth. Let's encourage each other!
