Xiaomi MiMo Head Luo Fuli and Former Tongyi Qianwen Head Lin Junyang Both Graduate from Peking University Lanco Lab

Gate News reports that on March 19, Xiaomi’s MiMo large model leader Luo Fuli and former Tongyi Qianwen technical director Lin Junyang, both previously conducted research at Peking University’s Language Computing and Machine Learning Group (Lanco Lab) and have worked at Alibaba DAMO Academy. Luo Fuli, born in 1995, holds an undergraduate degree from Beijing Normal University and a master’s in Computational Linguistics from Peking University, under Professor Sui Zhifang. Lin Junyang, born in 1993, earned his bachelor’s from the University of International Relations and a master’s from the School of Foreign Languages at Peking University, two to three years ahead in his cohort. After the release of MiMo-V2-Pro today, Lin Junyang commented under Luo Fuli’s post, “Amazing.” Additionally, in the multimodal field, former ByteDance Seed researcher Tian Zhi and Wang Xinlong, who recently joined Alibaba’s AI Innovation Division, are both doctoral students under Professor Shen Chunhua at the University of Adelaide, Australia, with at least one year overlapping during their studies. Tian Zhi has now left ByteDance to start a new venture with investment from Wang Huiwen; Wang Xinlong previously worked at Zhipu.
