Cybersecurity company warns: phishing websites impersonating Pudgy Penguins' new game are attempting to steal wallet passwords

Gate News Report, March 19 — Cybersecurity company Malwarebytes Labs has issued a warning about a fake website impersonating Pudgy Penguins’ newly released game, Pudgy World, which is attempting to steal cryptocurrency wallet passwords. The phishing site pudgypengu-gamegifts[.]live uses highly realistic copies of cryptocurrency wallet interfaces to deceive users. When visitors select a wallet on the fake site, a seemingly genuine wallet unlock screen appears, leading users to believe it is a trusted crypto wallet software. Malwarebytes pointed out that this phishing activity coincides with the game’s launch and a surge of new users, and it targets almost all mainstream wallets, indicating that well-resourced threat actors or commercial phishing toolkits may be behind it. Users are advised to access the official website only through trusted bookmarks, avoid clicking social media links, and be cautious of any wallet password prompts on web pages.
