Gate News reports that on March 13, there was the latest development in the US-Iran conflict.
Regarding Iran, the son of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mujtaba, issued his first statement, saying he will not give up revenge, the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed, and new fronts will be opened if necessary. Iranian officials stated that some ships from certain countries are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz if coordinated with the Iranian Navy; many ships can still pass through the strait without laying mines. Previously, media reports claimed that two Indian oil tankers were approved to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iranian sources denied.
On the US side, Trump stated that the US is the leading oil producer and can make a lot of money when oil prices rise. US Treasury Secretary Bissett said that escorting oil tankers by the US Navy or an international coalition is always part of the plan, and once military conditions permit, ships will be immediately escorted through the Strait of Hormuz. US media reported that the Trump administration plans to suspend the Jones Act (the US Coastal Shipping Act) to stabilize oil prices. CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) warned that US government intervention in the oil futures market could trigger an epic disaster.
Regarding Israel, the Israel Defense Forces announced that they have destroyed two-thirds of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers and have begun large-scale strikes in Tehran. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that they have targeted more Iranian nuclear scientists to prevent Iran from moving its nuclear and ballistic missile programs underground.
