The United States will launch a new Section 301 trade investigation on Wednesday

Gate News reports that on March 11, the United States will announce the launch of a new Section 301 trade investigation on Wednesday, March 12, local time. After the Supreme Court ruling overturned some tariffs, the Trump administration turned to rely on Section 301 to advance a new round of trade investigations and potential tariffs as an alternative path to rebuild the tariff system. Section 301 of the 1974 Trade Act is a primary legal tool used by the U.S. government to address foreign “unfair trade practices.”
