In an interview with CNBC, when asked about the timing of the tariff increase to 15%, she responded, “Very likely at some point this week.” Last month, after the Supreme Court invalidated most of Trump’s previous tariff systems, he implemented a 10% general tariff. Yellen pointed out that the authorization period for the new tariffs is only 150 days.
