卓创资讯:Off-season for consumption negatively impacts pig prices; March average pig price may decrease month-on-month

After the Spring Festival, terminal consumption enters the off-season for the year, and slaughter demand recovers slowly, which has a bearish impact on the live pig market. At the same time, in March, supply is still in the capacity release period, and pigs that did not meet the slaughter plan in February may be delayed until March, leading to potentially sufficient pig supply within the month. Under the influence of supply and demand, pig prices may decrease month-on-month in March. However, after pig prices fall to lower levels, it may stimulate some enterprises to stock frozen products and engage in secondary fattening, which to some extent helps stabilize prices and limits the decline.
