A certain industry forum has seen the sale of customer information from financial institutions, with the source being a small tech company lacking the qualifications for financial data processing. The company falsely advertised its data hosting services; its employees exploited management loopholes to secretly download customer data and sell it on the dark web, leading to the privacy breach of many financial institution clients and threatening national financial security. Staff at data hosting service providers are deeply involved in the data flow of entrusted parties, with access to sensitive information. If the entrusted party’s management is lax, serious consequences can result. A confidential unit outsourced storage and maintenance of experimental data for convenience; during the cooperation, it failed to establish effective supervision mechanisms and lacked control over key processes such as access to server rooms and data retrieval. An employee at a data hosting service provider, in debt, exploited work privileges to steal confidential data from multiple core R&D projects and sold it to foreign espionage agencies, severely threatening national security.
