As the war escalates, tragic incidents targeting civilians in the Middle East continue to increase. In the latest developments, as part of Iran's retaliatory attacks, a drone struck the luxury Fairmont Palm Hotel Jumeirah in Dubai; explosions and fires erupted around the hotel, injuring at least four people. This attack came immediately after large-scale US and Israeli operations against Iran, rapidly escalating tensions in the region.
Following this, Bahrain became another target in Iranian attacks. In the capital, Manama, high-rise residential buildings such as Era View Tower and Breaker were directly struck by drones. Footage shows the drone hitting the building, a large explosion, flames rising, and thick smoke filling the sky. The Bahraini Ministry of Interior confirmed that multiple residential buildings were targeted; civil defense teams are continuing firefighting and rescue efforts. It is reported that there have been civilian casualties in these attacks; there are people trapped under the rubble, injured families, and innocent people who have lost their homes. The risk of high-rise buildings collapsing, bodies buried under dust and ashes, horrified the residents of the area.
Such attacks targeting civilians constitute a clear violation of international law and demonstrate the most brutal face of war: innocent civilians, children, families... When residential blocks and hotels are struck instead of military bases, what is lost is not just buildings, but lives, hopes, and futures.
Our call to all parties: Immediately end this cycle of bloodshed. Reopen the path of diplomacy and dialogue.
I hope that a lasting peace will be achieved as soon as possible; that the lives of civilians will be protected and the region will return to tranquility. May peace bring hope to all. 🙏 #USIsraelStrikesIranBTCPlunges
