Returning to the village for the Spring Festival, I listened to my dad talk about his friend's situation—his son borrowed online loans and was chased for debt, forcing him to sell his house. It made me realize that "saving money" is far more important than "making money."

My dad's friend isn't exactly wealthy in the village, but with the money he made from doing business, living a modest life is no problem. Unfortunately, his youngest son went astray a few years ago, borrowing a lot of online loans. In the past two years, to bail his son out, he spent all his cash and had to sell his house in the county town, which is like starting over in old age.
Previously, the couple basically didn't touch a single drop of water, and I remember they even farmed the land for our family when we were kids. Now, to earn money to pay off debts, they’ve started farming again, leasing a large lychee orchard.
Sometimes, they even have to borrow a few thousand yuan from my dad for emergencies.
