Last night, I placed a short order at 3250 to try to catch the bottom, but I ended up sleeping until dawn. The price was still hovering around 3200. I was even thinking about whether it would drop to 3100 in the afternoon.
I put down my phone and went to brush my teeth. When I came back—damn, it shot up directly to 3350. Instantly, I was freaking out, feeling like the world was off. The opportunity to add to my position was gone, and instead, the market slapped me hard in the face.
Now I’m a bit conflicted—should I continue holding this position? Or take the opportunity to add more to lower my average cost? Or just cut my losses and set a stop-loss, maybe a forced liquidation at 4000 to stay safe?
Experienced traders, what do you think? How should I respond in this kind of market? Looking for guidance.
