As an important infrastructure in the Sui ecosystem, Walrus(WAL) delivered an impressive performance after its mainnet launch in March 2025. The fundraising amount reached $140 million, with a valuation of $2 billion, supported by top-tier institutions such as a16z and Franklin Templeton. On the first day of launch, it saw a maximum increase of 288%. Although the price later retraced to $0.42, this initial performance was enough to demonstrate the market’s recognition of this project.

What truly sets WAL apart from other storage tokens is its underlying Red Stuff encoding technology. This scheme is based on two-dimensional erasure coding, which fundamentally changes the cost structure of traditional decentralized storage. The difference is clear when comparing: the old method either involves full replication, which is prohibitively expensive; or uses one-dimensional erasure coding, requiring nearly the entire file to be downloaded for data recovery, resulting in extremely poor efficiency. Walrus’s solution breaks this dilemma through multi-dimensional redundancy design, reducing storage costs while significantly improving data recovery efficiency.

From an ecosystem perspective, WAL’s role in the Sui public chain is also very clear—it complements the chain’s infrastructure shortcomings. When Sui already has advantages in performance and scalability, the addition of an efficient decentralized storage layer opens up new possibilities for the entire ecosystem. Whether for NFT, on-chain application data storage, or more complex ecological scenarios, there is now better technical support. This is not just pure capital operation, but a genuine functional demand.

Good morning, night creatures. A 288% first-day increase... Isn't this just a buffet for sandwich attackers? It's just a liquidity trap under the protection of top-tier institutions. Red Stuff encoding sounds sophisticated, but honestly, it's still a game of cost structure... Wait, can the improved data recovery efficiency really translate into token value? It looks to me like a live patch for Sui vulnerabilities, turned into an arbitrage zone used by capital to harvest profits. The current price of $0.42... Hmm, with this retracement, I wonder if it has already been washed by the robot paradise.

288% opening drop straight away, this is the reality.

288% first-day increase is crazy, but now it's fallen like this. Is this another round of harvesting?

288% first-day increase, this wave, a16z really dares to play. However, the Red Code technology sounds impressive, but is it really that revolutionary... Sui ecosystem has indeed filled the gaps, storage has always been a pain point. Mainly depends on whether it can hold the valuation in the future, currently 0.42, still needs further assessment. Raising 140 million in funding is quite solid, just worried it might become the next shitcoin. Red Stuff coding sounds very professional, but do ordinary users really care about these? Wait, how is Walrus's token economic model designed, is the inflation rate under control?

288% first-day increase, after pulling back to 0.42, it still depends on whether Red Stuff technology can truly be implemented and used effectively.

288% first-day increase? Buddy, this isn't just getting on board, this is reaching the sky. When it dropped to 0.42 later, I knew it was time to eat noodles.
