The Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, recently revealed that whether the U.S. will freeze potential Bitcoin assets held by Venezuela is currently "still undecided."

In response to market rumors claiming that Venezuela holds up to $6 billion worth of Bitcoin (approximately 60,000 BTC), Atkins stated that the authenticity of this asset has not been verified by blockchain analysis agencies. He emphasized that even if the assets exist, the specific disposal plan is not the responsibility of the SEC but is instead determined by other relevant U.S. government agencies based on actual circumstances.

This statement reflects that the current policy stance regarding the disposal of national-level Bitcoin assets remains in the observation stage. The cautious attitude of regulatory authorities also reminds market participants that issues involving international asset freezes are far more complex than technical verification.

Haha, the SEC is starting to play the game again. As long as they can't verify it, it's all just rumors. --- 60 billion USD worth of Bitcoin... People really believe such an outrageous thing. --- Basically, they haven't made a decision yet. Political issues are much more complicated than technical ones. --- This guy's statements always manage to please everyone. Incredible. --- Wait, blockchain analysis can't detect it? Who would believe Venezuela actually has that many coins? --- The US government hasn't finalized their discussions yet, which is why they dare to keep this a mystery.

lol atkins really said "we dunno" and somehow that's supposed to settle this... 60k btc unverifiable? that's literally the whole point of on-chain analysis failing at scale, tbh. political theater disguised as regulatory caution fr fr

Can't even verify 60,000 BTC? That's hilarious. On-chain footprints can't be hidden at all... Atkins is leaving a foreshadowing for the follow-up actions of a certain department.

Speaking of which, no one can really confirm these 6 billion Bitcoins; even the blockchain can't verify them.

It's "still undecided," just sitting here, meaning they haven't figured out how to act yet. Whether these 60,000 Bitcoins exist or not can't be verified, and they still want to freeze them? That's hilarious. For national-level assets, technical issues are actually the simplest; the real trouble lies in politics. Regarding Venezuela, it all depends on how the US government chooses to respond. The regulatory authorities' words just mean: we're not taking action yet, we're watching.

Here we go again, claiming "no conclusion yet" because the authenticity can't be verified? Honestly, it just means they haven't figured out how to snatch it yet.
