Venezuela Requests International Aid After Strong Earthquake; Rescue Teams from U.S., Mexico, Spain Arrive

According to state media, Venezuela's government requested international assistance on June 25 following a strong earthquake. The National Assembly president stated that Vice President Delcy Rodriguez has appealed for professional rescue teams from the international community. Local rescue teams have been deployed to the hardest-hit Vargas State and the capital region. As of June 25 noon, rescue forces from the United States, Mexico, Spain, Qatar, and the United Nations have arrived in the country.
