Venezuela Inflation Surges to 600% as Over 57% of Residents Support Dollarization

According to an AtlasIntel survey released on May 28, over 57% of Venezuelans support dollarizing the economy to combat the country's triple-digit inflation. The survey found 31% support dollarization, with another 26% strongly backing the measure, compared to 30% opposition. Venezuela's central bank reported annual consumer price inflation hit approximately 600% in April, up from 475% in December. The sentiment deteriorated further, with 79% of respondents describing May's economic conditions as "poor," a two-percentage-point increase from the previous month.
