According to Bloomberg, Vanguard opened third-party cryptocurrency ETF trading on December 2, 2025, giving over fifty million brokerage clients regulated access to digital assets. The move reversed the firm's previous ban on spot crypto products. Vanguard supports ETFs holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana, but excludes funds tied to meme coins and unregulated tokens. The firm stated it has no plans to launch proprietary crypto ETFs or mutual funds. Spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively held nearly one hundred and twenty billion dollars in assets by late 2025, according to available data.
