According to crypto reporter Eleanor Terrett, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reiterated on May 29 that the Trump administration will not introduce a central bank digital currency (CBDC) during its term. However, the House-passed "21st Century Housing Act" includes a temporary ban on Federal Reserve CBDC issuance, set to expire on December 31, 2030. The measure has not yet been approved by the Senate.
