U.S. Treasury Imposes Sanctions on 8 Individuals, 5 Entities Linked to Iran on May 29

According to the U.S. Treasury Department, on May 29 the agency imposed sanctions on 8 individuals and 5 entities related to Iran as part of its "Economic Fury" campaign. The Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control, coordinating with the Commerce Department and FBI Los Angeles, targeted an Iran-based procurement network accused of using fraudulent identities to acquire goods for Iran's Defense Ministry and Armed Forces. The network engaged in identity fraud and deception of U.S. companies to circumvent existing sanctions.
