U.S. to Deploy Ground Forces in Lebanon and Israel to Monitor Ceasefire on June 29

According to the Washington Post on June 29, the United States will station ground forces in Lebanon and Israel to directly monitor operations by Lebanese military forces and the Israeli Defense Forces. An unnamed U.S. official stated that the deployment will allow the U.S. to apply necessary pressure on both sides to ensure compliance with a trilateral framework agreement. Central Command officials will report any violations to the White House.
