U.S. Regulators Pause Bank Cybersecurity Checks to Assess Mythos AI Risks

On May 20, U.S. regulators including the Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) paused certain cybersecurity examinations of major banks to allow them additional time to assess risks posed by Anthropic's newly released Mythos AI model. The agencies aim to strengthen banking systems against network threats exposed by the latest AI model during their testing phase. Anthropic has restricted access to Mythos, cautioning that the model could potentially be exploited for cyberattacks.
