U.S. Measles Cases Hit 2,030 in 2026, Second Consecutive Year Over 2,000

According to the CDC, measles cases in the U.S. reached 2,030 as of June 5, 2026, marking the second consecutive year exceeding 2,000 confirmed cases. The agency reported 30 measles outbreaks, with 93% of confirmed cases linked to outbreak activity. Approximately 72% of cases occurred in people under 20 years old, while 92% of cases were among individuals who were unvaccinated or had unknown vaccination status. The hospitalization rate for 2026 stands at 6%, down from 11% in 2025.
