According to Fox News, on May 26, U.S. military forces eliminated two Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps vessels discovered laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz and struck an air defense missile position near Qeshm Island targeting U.S. aircraft. A senior U.S. official described the operations as "defensive strikes."

According to two sources, the military actions do not indicate an end to the ceasefire.
