US Dollar Hits 161.93 Yen on June 22, Near Two-Year High After Brief Dip

On Monday (June 22), the US dollar surged to 161.93 yen intraday in Asia-Pacific trading, approaching a near-two-year high of 161.95 set on July 3, 2024. After dipping below 161.20 yen in early Asia-Pacific hours, the dollar rebounded sharply before pulling back to a session low of 161.08 yen at 22:51 Beijing time. The dollar ended New York trading at 161.53 yen, up 0.14%. In other pairs, the euro weakened to 184.56 yen (down 0.28%), while sterling strengthened to 214.02 yen (up 0.28%).
