According to The New York Times, on May 18, the U.S. and Israel are conducting their largest military preparations since the ceasefire, potentially resuming military strikes against Iran as early as this week. The Pentagon is developing contingency plans to restart “Operation Epic Fury,” a previously suspended military operation, two Middle East officials disclosed. The preparations come as U.S.-Iran negotiations have stalled for weeks, with Iran rejecting American demands on uranium enrichment restrictions and the Hormuz Strait blockade.
