According to Jin10, on June 4, Trump said at a White House event that a potential meeting between Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy would be "very good." On the same day, Zelenskyy publicly proposed a meeting with Putin in a third country. Trump stated he was pleased to see the two leaders discussing a meeting, attributing the progress partly to his administration's push. "If they can meet, that would be a very good thing. They really should make this happen," Trump said. He added that both Russia and Ukraine would need to make compromises to end the conflict, though he declined to provide further details.
