According to BlockBeats, Tether announced an investment in cross-border fintech platform LemFi today (May 18) to advance stablecoin adoption in remittance corridors across emerging markets. LemFi serves diaspora users in the UK, US, Canada, and Europe sending money to Africa and Asia. The investment will enable LemFi to introduce USDT as a settlement layer, replacing traditional multi-day SWIFT transfers with faster, lower-cost near-instant cross-border payments.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the company aims to promote global financial inclusion through scalable solutions, emphasizing that cross-border payments should prioritize speed, cost efficiency, and transparency.
