Taiwan's Industrial and Service Sector Wages Rise 4.4% in March, Driven by AI and Electronics Demand

According to Taipei Times, Taiwan’s industrial and service sector wages rose 4.4% year-on-year in March to NT$57,509 (US$1,800), driven by strong demand for AI and electronics. Regular wages increased 2.6% to NT$48,768 (US$1,600), while median monthly pay rose 2.9% to NT$39,220 (US$1,200).

Manufacturing overtime averaged 17.1 hours monthly in the first quarter, with electronics component makers reaching a record 28.6 hours. After inflation, real regular wages rose 1.45% and real total compensation increased 1.98%.
