According to Chinese state media CCTV, Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhang Han urged the U.S. on May 13 to stop military ties with Taiwan and cease arms sales to the island. Zhang emphasized that Taiwan is purely a Chinese internal affair and rejected any foreign interference, specifically opposing all forms of military contact between the U.S. and Taiwan. The spokesperson called on Washington to adhere to the one-China principle and the three U.S.-China joint communiques, handle the Taiwan issue prudently, and avoid sending wrong signals to separatist forces.
