South Korean Listed Companies Hit 29 Stock Par Consolidations in July, Most in 4 Months Amid Delisting Fears

According to the Korea Exchange, listed companies decided on 29 stock par value consolidations from July 1-24, marking the highest level in four months as stronger delisting standards took effect this month. The surge comes as KOSDAQ index fell to 700 points and the exchange strengthened delisting criteria, including new thresholds for penny stocks trading below 1,000 Korean won. Companies are using par value consolidations to boost share prices and avoid delisting, though the strategy has shown limited success; TS Investment declined 45.7% after consolidation, and CNR Research fell 28.8% despite the measure.
